FEATURE EVENT PACKAGES
BC Event Management has created two feature event packages to equip our clients with easy and effective sales tools. These packages include one page feature sheets with information about the event, pictures, video links and costs. These packages will be great for our hotel partners and DMC's to have in their pockets as they showcase the many event possibilities with clients on a site inspection. Built with scalability in mind, these productions can be specifically tailored to group size and budgets.
Cirque Pacifique brings talent together from local and national locations and features performance art, dance, acrobatics and impressive human feats. This unique Cirque inspired performance is flexible in size, scope and cost. It is also highly effective in an opening ceremony or closing night gala.
Percussion Extravaganza draws on the rich cultural diversity of Canada by bringing together percussion artists from various ethnic backgrounds. As each group performs it then seamlessly melds into a collective performance leaving the audience captivated by not only the spectacular sounds but by rich costuming and a true sense of collaboration. This showcase is perfect for opening events, closing ceremonies or team building kick offs.
Our Sales team will be out and about this summer showcasing these new sales tools!

THE GAMES
Everyone who attended the many pavilions during the 2010 Vancouver Games will remember the two most prominent pavilions on the Olympic skyline. As designer, builder, and operations partner for the Saskatchewan Pavilion at Concord Pacific Place, BCEM exceeded attendance rates by over 350%. Press accolades abounded including compliments from the Wall Street Journal. Prominent guests included the US Ambassador, two Canadian Premiers and other dignitaries. Boasting a translucent rear-projected video sphere, and a massive white free span party tent, Saskatchewan Tourism was thrilled with their landmark installations.
Guests not only had comfort in their surroundings but enjoyed scrumptious food served from a fully installed industrial kitchen. Topping it off was continuous entertainment and large screen projections of all the most exciting sporting events. The buzz around town was that this was the place to be and it turned out to be just that!

Adjacent to Saskatchewan was the Masion du Quebec, a six story high 12,000 sq ft cube with video projection inside and out. BCEM built the cube, and bistro inside the cube, as well as provided operations staff. The prominent blue "Qs" printed into the exterior sidewalls of the structure attracted great attention.
BCEM also installed an industrial kitchen and within the cube so guests could enjoy a taste of Quebec. Tourism officials were elated with the results and all anticipated attendance estimates were shattered.

The site was challenging because all of the installations were within the security perimeter. Achieving access for construction contractors required BCEM staff full time just to deal with ever-changing security procedures. No deliveries were possible by day so a fleet of trucks were scheduled overnight for servicing and restocking.
With no existing plumbing, excavations were needed for grey water tanks that were serviced overnight.
The overload of visitors put strains on all of the systems and constant adjustments were made on the fly to accommodate the volume. These included more food, more toilets and more staff. Success was achieved on all fronts. Power and plumbing lines were all buried underground and paved over so that there were no visible utilities. Both of our clients said that BC Event Management delivered a Gold Medal Performance!

HUDSON'S BAY COMPANY TEAM CANADA APPAREL & SUPERSTORE LAUNCH
On October 1, 2009 the BC Event Management (BCEM) team produced two visually stimulating events for the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC). The Official launch for the Superstore and Team Canada Apparel took place in the downtown Vancouver HBC store.
The BCEM team worked throughout the night to setup a concert stage, AV, media zone and entertainment sector within the store. Our technical team also incorporated a customized audio design to allow for a high energy concert atmosphere within a busy and open retail space. A large stage with backdrop was also featured along with video simulcast from the exterior of the building.
|
BCEM also created a building wrap concept for the HBC building which was adopted and coincided with the official opening of the store. The building wrap included eight 40 foot tall Olympic banners.
During the opening the massive banners were creatively revealed on cue from a trigger inside the store over 300' away. This live video image was projected onto the media stage's 108" LCD monitor.
|
BCEM was also excited about assisting HBC with creating an offbeat yet fashionable VIP party at the old Storyeum venue in historic Gastown. It was a challenge to create a chic venue within an empty shell but the team jumped into action.
Cleaning the abandoned venue from top to bottom was the first order of business followed by the installation of rigging, high efficiency lighting design equipment, a concert stage, audio system plus the installation of video monitors. It was a busy undertaking successfully completed on target and on track.
What a way to end 2009 and get ready for 2010!
