David Clarke

David Clark, President

BCEM President David Clark began his career in the industry in 1983 as the co-owner of All Set Design and All Set Projects. All Set designed and built the displays for six pavilions at the Vancouver world's fair, Expo '86, including all three of the BC pavilions as well as the Canadian Pacific and the Air Canada pavilions. In 1987, after Expo, David transitioned to special events and founded BC Event Management. Industry recognition followed quickly as BCEM won four awards at the inaugural Canadian Event Industry Awards. David's goal: to continue to exceed our clients' expectations with our trademark attention to detail, technical expertise, and creative flair. BCEM has gone on to produce many high profile events in Canada, (see past projects section). BCEM is Canada's record holder for event awards and nominations with 87 nominations and 36 awards (see our awards section for more information).

Darren Dreger

Darren Dreger, Director of Sales & Events

Director of Sales & Events, Darren Dreger, CSEC, CSEP utilizes his 20 years of experience as an Event Producer to help create a clear vision for BCEM clients. Darren's passion and commitment to the industry is evident through his enjoyment as an event management instructor and frequent guest speaker at special event conferences. Darren is past president of the Canadian Special Events Society and a past board member for Meeting Professionals International and the International Special Events Society - Vancouver Chapter. While not working Darren can be found mountain biking and hiking throughout BC and spending time with his family.

Shane Droucker

Shane Droucker, Director of Production

Shane has worked extensively and internationally in event management. He has detailed knowledge of budget creation and analysis, personnel management, interface management, volunteer coordination, lighting and set design. As a Production Manager, Shane is responsible for transforming the creative team's artistic vision into a physical reality. Working within the constraints of the budget and timeline laid out for the project, he works closely with his production team to realize the best possible production values. His experience working internationally has given him a finely honed talent for creating world class events. A background in theater, dance and 3D visual arts always brings a unique creative flare to BCEM events. When not working Shane can be found enjoying archery and hitting the hills on his snowboard.

BCEM also has a fully integrated team of contract event professionals that we bring up to full production when required. This approach saves overhead and therefore reduces our event costs. During the 2010 Winter Olympics our team grew to twenty full time event staff in three facilities throughout Vancouver. Our contract team members include registration staff, travel staff, production assistants, event coordinators and entertainment coordinators to name a few.
